HAWAIIAN ANCESTRY SCHOLARSHIP

AVA seeks to use it's name and status in the community to give back.

Westernization of the state has led to loss of opportunities for many Hawaiian Families who have lived here for generations.  

​We want to return opportunities to kids with Hawaiian Ancestry.
Scholarship Winners will receive 1 season of...
  • Club Dues: open to ages 10-14 (based off USAV guidelines).  Estimated value: $700-$1100
  • Travel Expenses: open to ages 15 -17 (based off USAV guidelines).  Estimated value: $5000

Award date:  First funds awarded prior to the 2020-21 club season (October 1. 2020).  

Applications:  Available in June, 2020.  Application deadline: September 1, 2020.

Prerequisites:  Applicants must have Hawaiian Ancestry, volleyball experience and planning on enrolling at AVA.  

Criteria:  Financial need, volleyball skill, character

Process:
1. Submit application by September 1, 2020
2. Semi-finalists invited back for a tryout, September 20, 2020
3. Winner selected October 1, 2020
